found this guy just before the "hurricane". as a fully grown adult male he was a whopping 7lbs, his hair was falling out, he was covered in fleas, and he had open sores all over his body. he was a little co-dependent and hated to be left alone. actually, he was so skinny and so weak when he first came into my home that he would fall over whenever he tried to scratch or groom himself. and even then he still would not eat unless i was physically there petting him. it was so sad. i couldn't leave him outside. he wouldn't have survived that weekend.
my plan from day one was to "rehab and re-home" him. it was obvious that he was not neutered and, as sick as he was, i knew that the shelter would simply kill him if surrendered. cats are more difficult to find homes for when they're not little kittens anymore, and this guy is estimated to be about one year old. he is much cuter now and [more importantly] much healthier. he has put on a decent amount of weight. his sore have all healed. he has been to the vet twice.
